Welcome to ABSAME 2008. The purpose of the ABSAME annual meeting is to bring together scientists, medical educators, and health care providers in order to integrate basic and social sciences (in the very broadest sense) for the advancement of healthcare. This year’s conference theme is Developing and Assessing Core Behavioral Competencies. We welcome your contribution to this exciting conference.

Conference content will benefit faculty, researchers, residents, graduate and medical students from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, pharmacology, primary care (family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics), neurology, nursing, social work and allied health as well as sociology, medical anthropology and the humanities.
