ABSAME Annual Meeting - General Information

Welcome Message

Greetings,

Please join us for the 35th Annual ABSAME conference, scheduled October 20-23, 2005, at the Hilton San Diego – Harbor Island Hotel and Conference Center. This year’s conference theme is “Enhancing Health Communication in Medical Education and Healthcare: Pedagogy, Policy and Practice.” The goal of this conference is to describe and discuss the most effective strategies available to narrow the gap between the most and least effective health communication strategies. By energizing and expanding the core topics and including several hot new cutting-edge sessions, we are bringing you a program intended to entertain as well as to educate. This year’s speakers will give you the raw facts, straight-forward analysis, and in-depth explanation of what you need to know to improve health communication in national health care pedagogy, policy, and practice. Our speakers will focus on practical advice and research for both the “gray areas” and “hot button” issues we face each day. As a community of educators and researchers, we need to ensure that our techniques and skills are sufficient to meet the mushrooming demands of today’s health communication. This conference can help you attain better communication skills, a deeper appreciation of the communication issues facing health care workers and students, and new insights into the methods for solving communication problems. These assets are invaluable for you, your patients, your community, and your students. Don’t miss “Enhancing Health Communication in Medical Education and Healthcare: Pedagogy, Policy and Practice!” Save the dates, join your colleagues, and sign up today. We look forward to seeing you in San Diego.
