3nd Edition of "The Behavioral Sciences and Health Care"
The new, 3rd edition of The Behavioral Sciences and Health Care, edited by O.J. Sahler, Jack Carr, Julia Frank, and João Nunes, was released April 2012. This revision has been streamlined to allow for several new chapters, such as an in-depth look at provider impairment as well as updates on obesity, palliative care, and complementary medicine. In addition, the 350+ question-and-answer review section continues to provide concise discussions of specific topics that supplement the text.
Written for medical students, this textbook provides succinct information on the behavioral, social, and psychological sciences relevant to health and wellness. The book presents a model emphasizing the significance of the interaction among biopsychosocial variables; it also seeks to describe the mechanisms connecting these variables. A USMLE-style review section is included. The authors are researches affiliated with the Association for the Behavioral Sciences and Medical Education. It is edited by Drs. O. J. Sahler and John Carr. More>>
The Instructors Manual, which is companion to the textbook and provides creative ideas for teaching that capitalize on experiential learning and uses practical application examples, is available on-line. More>>
